Hisham Akira Bharoocha is a Japanese-born artist based in Brooklyn concentrating on creating visual art, photography, and music. Presently, Hisham is focused on creating work that shows the absurdity and logic of how the mind functions, what kind of relationships it creates between experiences, and images that we absorb through our senses moment by moment. Hisham’s clients include Style.com, Puma, Saint Heron, Sephora, Ogilvy, Nylon Magazine, Sony, Latest Revival, Imprint Projects, Zeit Magazin, Nowness, Creatures of the Wind, Spotify, Vice, and Facebook.
Hisham has exhibited in solo shows around the world and group shows at galleries such as Deitch Projects and D’Amelio Terras in New York, Snow Gallery in Tokyo, John Connelly Presents, Gallerie Frank Elbaz in Paris, and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, as well as Vleeshal, a state run space in the Netherlands.
